Grafton Park Woods Guided Walk, Saturday 19th September 1.30pm - History and Forestry Operations Today - hosted by Jonathan Plowe

Saturday 19th September, 1.30pm start.

Grafton Park Wood has a long history, dating back over many centuries. This guided walk will cover the history of the woods, including its use in the development of the airfield, and also explain what the modern day forestry operations do to ensure this diverse woodland habitat continues to thrive.

The woods today form part of the Boughton Estate. The guide for this walk will be Jonathan, Boughton Estate's Woodland Operations Manager, who has many years experience of working with this woodland.

The walk will last approximately one hour, and cover approximately two miles over varied terrain including rough grassland areas.

Parking available on site.

The walk will commence at 1.30pm, please meet for 1.15pm by the entrance to the Museum site. Further information will be sent once your booking is made.

Booking essential as there are a limited number of places available.

All funds raised will be donated to the Nene Valley Bat Group to help them continue their work to study and protect the local bat population, and in particular the construction of a hibernacula.
